Sakhi Yoga Teacher Training - Offered by Maxine Deutschendorf and Pamela Meriweather

The first and only 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered School, in the Southeast offering "pay what you can" teacher training! Are you ready to transform?

Do you have a passion to deepen your knowledge of yoga, to share the joys of yoga with others, or perhaps to use yoga as therapy for yourself and others? Whether your goal is to become a certified yoga teacher or just to deepen your own personal practice and understanding of yoga, this program will give you a thorough foundation on which to build.

The Sakhi Program is an 8-month, comprehensive curriculum of study and practice, providing a uniquely focused exploration into the life-changing practice of yoga. Drawing from ancient and classical teachings of Yoga, as well as contemporary knowledge of the body and mind, this teacher training course is designed to expand one’s experience of yoga beyond asana on the mat, and into the farther reaches of yoga’s potential to create a life of fulfillment and bliss. An integral part of this program is a concentrated focus on the therapeutic aspects of yoga. The Sakhi Program was created by Maxine Deutschendorf, E-RYT 200, and Pamela Cauthen Meriwether, E-RYT 500, who will lead most of the segments in the curriculum. Guest lecturers will also contribute to the Sakhi experience, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our students.

The scope, depth, and personal approach of this course have been designed to develop practitioners who embody yogic philosophy, and are able to share with others an authentic practice of yoga. Your knowledge of Yoga philosophy, practices and teaching methodologies will be enriched, to your own benefit and to the benefit of those you may choose to guide along the yoga path.

As a Yoga Alliance Registered School, the course hours will be recognized as a Yoga Alliance Teacher Registration at the 200-hour level (RYT200). Yoga Alliance is a non-profit organization that maintains education standards and a national registry of Registered Yoga Teachers. For more information on Yoga Alliance, visit www.yogalliance.org.

Donation Considerations

Our intention in creating a donation-based yoga teacher training program is to make it available to everyone. In determining how much you can pay for the Sakhi Yoga Teacher Training, we only ask that you consider both your personal finances and what comparable training programs in the Southeast are charging. Most 200-hour Yoga Alliance schools in the area charge between $1,595 and $3,300, but again there is no minimum. We place our trust in each participant to assess these considerations personally, and to “pay what you can.”
